How did David propose? David proposed at one of our favorite restaurants in the Lower East Side and sneakily organized my three maids of honor to capture the whole event on film. We then went to the bar next door where many more of our friends were waiting to surprise me and continue celebrating.
Standout Memory of the night: Our favorite memory of the night was right after the ceremony where it was just David and me together. We were able to drink champagne, eat some food, and just laugh about how surreal the whole day had been so far, and how we still had an entire night left of celebrating ahead of us!
Honeymoon Location: For our honeymoon we went to Bali, Lombok, and Honk Kong.
One piece of advice that you could give to other couples: Don’t sweat the small stuff. Weddings are about love and family, make sure those themes remain throughout the whole process.
Wedding Dress: Monique Lhuillier, The Plumed Serpent in Westport, CT
Groom’s Tux: Calvin Klein, Men’s Wearhouse
Bridesmaids’ Gift: Robes for getting ready and shawls to wear with their dress
Groomsmen’ Gift: Cigar cases with engraved lighters which we broke out at the after party.
Something blue and something borrowed: My something blue was my mother’s garter that she wore for her wedding and also a blue muff that was a gift from my Grandmother when I was a little girl. My something borrowed was my grandfather’s wedding band, which is the ring I was married with.
TESTIMONIAL: Felix was incredible to work with. After getting to know him during our engagement shoot, he knew exactly what we would want for our wedding day. David and I both wanted elegant, fun, and creative pictures, which Felix captured perfectly. At the beginning of the day I expressed to Felix that I wanted as many pictures with foliage as possible – he then took it one step further than just a foliage background and physically hoisted me into the tree! It is our favorite picture of the day!
