How did Marcus propose? We were spending the week in London, visiting Marcus’ family. Marcus took me to an Arsenal football (soccer) game, which is his favorite team ever since he was little boy. He was so nervous the whole entire game but I didn’t suspect a thing! He had planned for the words “Will you marry me Liz!?” come up on the screen at half-time. But because I was completely clueless I had went to the restroom and to grab a drink and completely missed the proposal!!!! After the game, we walked down the soccer pitch when no one was around. As I was admiring the stadium, Marcus took the ring out of his pocket, kneeled down on one knee and told me he couldn’t imagine his life without me, and that if I said yes, I would make him the happiest man in the world. I cried, then nodded, and somehow found the words to say “Yes, of course!!” We then had a celebratory bottle of champagne to celebrate the beginning of our life together! As he knelt down to ask me to be his wife, I could not have imagined a more personal romantic moment between us.
Standout Memory of the night: It is very hard to pick one standout memory of the night because every single moment, from the ceremony to the first dance to the cutting of the cake to dancing the night away with all of our love ones, it was implausible. My favorite moment was walking down the isle to the “The way you look tonight” and watching my groom’s face when he saw me, it was priceless.
Honeymoon Location: We went to Los Angeles, Tahiti, Taha’a, and Bora Bora. By far the most amazing 12 days of my life. It was an unforgettable trip. We stayed in the over the water bungalows and had breakfast brought to us every morning on a canoe! Unbelievable.
One piece of advice that you could give to other couples: Your wedding day flies by and before you know it its over, but your new life together is just beginning!! Enjoy every moment of it.
